Network switches are used to connect wired devices together in your business or home to create or expand a network. Switches typically come in three types: - Fully Managed switches are ideal for large networks as they have a wide range of management features to help you configure and maintain the network. Smart Managed switches are generally cheaper than fully managed switches, they can be configured by a simple web interface but often lack some of the higher-end management options available with fully-managed switches. Unmanaged switches are simple ?plug-and-play? with no management or configuration options, and are the cheapest switch option as a result.
